Hotel Riu Playacar All Inclusive Playa del Carmen Mexico – View Rates & Availability»

Sitting on a white sandy beach, Riu Playacar walks the line between lively and laid-back.

Tropical, friendly and relaxed, the Riu Playacar has classic Caribbean good looks. Inside, the lobby is an appealing mix of Mexican and colonial design. Think Aztec-style wood carvings, paintwork in tropical brights and old-world touches like ceiling fans and chandeliers.

As for the rooms, they’re clustered into dinky blocks, scattered through the gardens. The bedrooms themselves are generously sized and come with nice-to-have extras like satellite TV, complimentary toiletries and Riu’s signature liquor dispenser.

We loved our stay at Riu Playacar. We were looking for a hotel that had a tropical lay out and this place certainly did. Very clean, great food, excellent service. We loved the fact that we could hotel hop to the other Riu’s. The entertainment staff always had something fun to do, including dance lessons which we took advantage of. The beach was great, it was nice to relax. We are already planning our next trip there. Thanks Riu Playacar!

The smart restaurants include an international buffet, an Asian-themed eatery, and an American grillhouse. And there are more than enough bars to go around. This place is part of the Riu Playacar Resort complex so you can use any of the bars in Riu Yucatan and ClubHotel Riu Tequila.

In terms of things to do, tennis courts, watersports, pool tables and a gym sort the activities list out. When you really want to unwind though, the pool area pulls out all the stops with palm trees, exotic plants and tinkling fountains.

The Riu Playacar is on the edge of a magnificent white sandy beach, with crystal clear turquoise waters and a coral reef: a complete underwater world waiting to be discovered. From here you are at easy reach of Cozumel Island and all the most important places of interest on the Yucatan peninsula. This property features 386 spacious guestrooms with a full range of amenities including a mini-bar and liquor dispenser. Guests can enjoy a full range of sports and entertainment activities, such as Riu`s famous theme shows, not to mention the superb international buffet and appealing restaurants, as well as the assortment of facilities available at their sister properties within the Riu Resort complex.

We had an exceptional time at this hotel. Having done many all-inclusive resorts across the Caribbean, this was my favorite. I say this mostly for 2 reasons: 1. Quality of the beach (white sand, aquamarine blue waters and crystal clear water) 2. Access to the town of Playa del Carmen (walk or cheap cab) which is a really cool town of shops, restaurants and clubs. The rooms were very clean and sufficient and the staff was very friendly. We upgraded to the suite for a nominal fee and it was worth it. We will go back. Enjoy!

The resort is located in the Yucatan peninsula, just 1.9 miles from Playa del Carmen. It is located in the Playacar resort area, along with its sisters properties, the Riu Palace Mexico, Riu Palace Riviera Maya, Riu Yucatan and Riu Tequila. Surrounded by 19,000 sq. yards of lush gardens, the main building and 2-story bungalow complex are located on the beach. Complimentary sun loungers are available for Guests use on the beach.
